Details
Tension and energy would be pretty spot-on descriptors for this stunner. We have a light dusting of pear fruit interlacing with strawberry laces and a faint lick of graphite. This is taut and direct, with etched acidity and bundles of freshness. Totally delicious.

Winegrowers that split their energy between the regions of between Rhône and Provence, Marrenon is a reference point for skillfully blended, authentic French countryside wines. Since 1965 they have utilised a large patchwork of vineyards to create layers in their wines, utilising a range of varieties and regions to bring complexity to traditional blends. They refer to this as a mosaic of terroirs - the mythical mountains, Luberon to the south and Ventoux to the North, forge the character of these appellations: maximum exposure to the sun, tempered by the altitude and the thermal amplitude thanks to the proximity of the Southern Alps, gentle slopes and limestone hillsides, rolling hills exposed to the benefits of the Mistral wind. All these factors produce outstanding blends, orchestrated with the precision of a watchmaker by Philippe Tolleret.

Pairing guide
Made from beautifully ripened and stunningly plush Merlot grapes, this beautiful rosé from Marrenon is guaranteed to elicit no shortage of appreciative ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ at the dining table. We especially enjoyed it with grilled pork chops, gremolata and barbecued sausages, and it’s also going to be excellent with a duck salad or pink rack of lamb. Garlic potato dishes, savoury pastries and picnic pies, olives and salty cheeses like feta and halloumi will also provide memorable pairings to savour.
