Details
This is Verdejo, yes, but with a slightly more stone fruit character to it. Think ripe pears, apricots and red apples interlacing with yellow Jelly Babies - and you'd be on the right track. It's beautifully aromatic, with good concentration and length.

Nestled in sunny La Mancha, Spain, Gobeum's winery is a fusion of tradition and innovation. Picture this: rolling vineyards kissed by the Spanish sun, where grapes dance to the rhythm of skilled winemakers. At Gobeum, they’re all about diversity—think Tempranillo's boldness mingling with Verdejo's aromatic charm. Their secret? A mix of classic wisdom and cutting-edge techniques that elevate every sip. But it’s not just about the wine—it's a commitment to Mother Nature. Gobeum nurtures its vineyards sustainably, ensuring each bottle tells a story of harmony between land and flavour. In short, Gobeum isn’t just a winery; it’s a celebration of Spanish wine at great value price points. We love their range from top to bottom and they are fantastic accounts of some of the country's most notable grape varieties.

Pairing guide
Our devotion for Verdejo wines just grows deeper and deeper with every bottle we try, and this delicious release from Gobeum is a brilliant example of what this white wine variety does best. It’s a top bottle for pairing with simple grilled chicken salads, all kinds of white fish and seared seafood dishes, and buttery pasta classics like cacio e pepe. It’s also an excellent wine for pairing with goat’s cheese bruschetta, broad beans and peas, and grilled asparagus starters. Fantastic!

Wine region
Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
La Mancha is a wine region in Spain known for its hot and dry climate, high altitude vineyards, and significant grape production the top sub-regions are Almansa, Jumilla, and Manchuela, each with its own unique wine styles. The terroir across these regions can be characterized by the high chalk content of its soil, which helps to retain moisture during the arid summers. The top wine styles produced in La Mancha are primarily red wines made from the Tempranillo grape, including the well-known Crianza and the top tier Reserva styles, as well as Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. However, the region also produces some white wines made from the fruity Airen grape, which is a native varietal of La Mancha and one of the most widely planted white grape varieties in the world.
