Details
This style of wine is so popular right now. Light, fresh and easy drinking with a natural funk character. Lots of bright, fresh redcurrant and red cherry fruit combine effortlessly with a smokey, whiffy mineral nose. This is a slick wine, fruit driven with loads of freshness and crunchy acidity. Drinking beautifully right now and not a million miles away from a Beaujolais in style. Yum!
This is the sort of producer that we love to work with and actively seek out here at Good Pair Days. Alphabetical wines was born when good friends David Cope and Simon Wibberly decided they wanted to have a bit of fun and break the rules. They didn't much care for heritage or history, and wanted to make wines that were fun and drinkable. Safe to say, David and Simon have achieved that in spades through a portfolio of fun, approachable wines with really cool labels! All of their wines are naturally fermented with the integrity of the fruit always coming first in a bid to always showcase the varietal character of their fruit. They work with some of the most amazing vineyards in the Western Cape, with all their wines being produced and bottled at a cellar in Stellenbosch. Their first wine was a blend of so many varieties, that a friend once said, "wow, it's almost the whole alphabet". Thus, Alphabetical wine was born.

Pairing guide
This Grenache is one of those all-time classics that we love to return to again and again, and when it comes to food pairing, it’s a winner every time. It’s a proper meat-lover’s wine - this grape works well with beef and pork, meaning you can really pair this wine with any meat dish, and it’ll come up hitting the big time. If you’re not big on your meat dishes, there’s no need to pass this one by: it’s going to be lovely with wild mushrooms and grilled aubergine, and will also go nicely with seared tuna, too.
