Details
The 'Sakura' Chardonnay sits nicely in the slightly oaked camp, with plenty of cashew nut complexity and a touch of pencil shaving coming through. Behind that layer of oak is some delicate fruit with nectarines and yellow apple fruit tones coming through. This is a lovely, modern style of Chardy.
Windowrie is a pioneering western NSW winery that has cleverly turned their whole world around to become a fully organic and minimal intervention producer with a whole swag of clever wines in their portfolio. Still run by the forward-thinking O'Dea family, this estate has the ultimate desire to 'live in a chemical-free, sustainable environment that reflect where we are and what we believe in. While Canowindra is known as the ballooning capital of Australia, you there's more than hot air here. We like the colourful range of classy wines under the 'Sakura' range and the 'Pig in the House' range is a delightful expression of wines made under the hands-off banner.

Pairing guide
The winemakers at Windowrie winery have truly knocked it out of the park with this characterful Chardonnay, which perfectly encapsulates all we love about this most noble of white wine varieties. It’s a beautiful choice for pairing with creamy French cheeses like brie and camembert, and it’s also excellent with richer creamy potato dishes, pasta favourites like carbonara, and curries made with coconut cream, ginger, chilli and herbs. Chunkier white fish and richer seafood recipes will also taste fabulous with this wine, and we also loved it with pork chops and roast poultry.
