Details
Sparkling wine is a joyous thing, whether it be Grand Cru Grower Champagne or cheap as chips Prosecco, it’s built for celebrations and sunshine imbibing - but Pét Nat is truly the most democratic and exciting of the field! The Tropo Pink Pét Nat is a whole heap of party in a glass: a lovely blush blend of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, Skinsy Pinot Gris and a tiny dose of Merlot to make the most refreshing bubbly boy in the game. Spring strawberries, pickled cherries, redcurrants, ripe pear and creaming soda - it's fruity and savoury at the same time.

Laura and Brendan Carter are on a mission - to make delicious, Australian beverages in a sustainable way and create a thoroughly modern business in the process. Their winery, Unico Zelo is a winery with attitude. We love them, and think you should too. The philosophy of Unico Zelo is to show the world just how varied Australian wine can be, and how flexible and forgiving the fascinating soils of South Australia can be. Their deeply-flavoured wines are inspired by some of the great, powerful wine regions of the world, but Laura and Brendan like to put their own stamp on things. Never ones to stand still, they decided to launch Tropo, a collection of wines that taste exactly how they look. Fun, contemporary ’throw the bottles on top of ice’ styles that are uncomplicated and do we dare say ’smashable’! I think they would approve.

Pairing guide
We can’t get enough Pét Nat here at Good Pair Days, and this pink number from Tropo is about as irresistible as they come. It’s a great option for loads of delicious vegan specialties, and will work especially well with tempura veggies, crispy tofu dishes, spicy rice noodles, vegan pâté, and anything featuring fresh tomatoes and summer vegetables like radish, fennel, and red capsicum.

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
