Details
From vines grown in black volcanic soil, this stunning example of Soave from Suavia shines bright in the glass and has aromas of pear, jasmine and tropical fruit salad with savoury notes of fresh hay and almonds. This classic crisp, dry white is savoury, textural, delicious and very, very moreish!

Since 1887 generations of the Tessari family have been dedicated to the cultivation of their vineyards in the heart of the Soave Classico area, the oldest white wine production area in Italy. This is a beautiful area with special soils and climatic conditions, centred around the small village of Fittà which sits at a high altitude of 296 metres above sea level. Today Giovanni Tessari and his wife Rosetta’s three daughters Meri, Valentina and Alessandra run the winery in Fittà. In 1982 Giovanni and Rosetta, aware of their land’s great potential for producing high-quality wines, decided to stop taking their grapes to the local cooperative winery in order to produce their own wine. They felt a strong bond with the area’s tradition and culture, and so they decided to name their winery Suavia after the ancient town of Soave. Their vineyards share the same essential characteristics of rich volcanic soil with vines aged over 35 years old. Vineyard management focuses on the principles of vine balance and respect for the environment and landscape.

Pairing guide
As one of Italy's premiere white wine styles, the peerless beauty and bracing freshness of a good Soave Classico is hard to beat. This stunning wine is going to be absolutely superb with a great array of tasty treats; it's excellent with pretty much any white fish or shellfish dish, squid ink risotto, and a homemade vongole. Gnocchi with herb butter is a timeless pairing, but you'll do just as well with a chicken Caesar salad or roast or grilled poultry dishes, too.
