Details
This is a bold yet elegantly structured expression of Malbec, brimming with ripe blackberries, dark plums, and a hint of violet on the nose. On the palate, juicy black fruit is layered with subtle cocoa, warm spices, all wrapped in fine, velvety tannins. A fresh acidity lifts the rich fruit core, leading to a long, balanced finish with whispers of black pepper and dried herbs. Stunning!

Riley Harrison is a one man band who is showing a generation of young winemakers that you can step out on your own from the shadows of large wineries and master your craft. This step was well considered and he has been slowly building the range of his own wines since his first Fleur de la Lune Grenache in 2015. While making the jump into hyperspace, Riley was honing his craft working at the trend setting McLaren Vale winery, Samuel’s Gorge. It was here where he developed a passion for pretty styled Grenache and wines that let the fruit do the talking as much as possible. Fast forward to the present day and Riley has developed a strong, loyal following of fans across the wine scene and a growing range of wines now that he has time to work on it more and more. Here you will find a strong mix of red wines with stripped back, minimalistic labels and strong names. The wines are a nice mix of conventional varieties from across South Australia’s classic wine regions in a modern, hands off approach.

Pairing guide
When we think of Argentinian food, what comes to mind? The obvious answer is steak, really – this is the spiritual home of high-quality beef, and it's this particular meat which pairs so naturally and excitingly with Malbec – whether barbecued, cooked in a pie, or minced and made into burgers. This delicious red wine features plenty of dark plum flavours and ample tannins, and as such, can be paired beautifully with deeply flavourful meat and spice. Think cured beef, lamb curries (even a Caribbean curry goat would be good here), smokey charcuterie and Tex-Mex classics like chilli con carne and beef burritos. Any red meat with a smokey char and a chilli-based rub is going to be sheer perfection with this particular bottle!

Wine region
Langhorne Creek, Australia
The Langhorne Creek is a wine region in South Australia that is best known for its rich, full-bodied red wines such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The region has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters, and a cooling influence from nearby Lake Alexandrina which helps moderate the temperature. All of which makes this region ideal for producing high-quality and age-worthy red wines. In fact, the region is responsible for a large portion of the red grapes used in wines all over the state! The region also produces some white wines, particularly Chardonnay, but it's the red that makes up the lion's share of plantings. The region is surrounded by picturesque countryside and has a long history of grape growing and winemaking dating back to the 1850s.
