Details
The W.J.J Pinot Noir is the grand affair from the P & J team, utilising some exceptional fruit from their Lenswood site. The wine is carefully knitted together to produce a classic red apple skin and cherry noted red that is offset with delicate oak that gives this wine a toasted spice finish with moderate tannins.

Ah, the Adelaide Hills. We never tire of exploring the wines which come from this beautiful corner of our fair country, and we reckon you probably feel the same. After all, how could you possibly get bored of wines such as those made by Pike and Joyce, one of the most exciting and pioneering Adelaide Hills wineries which has helped put this region on the map for the past 25 years? These are wines which really do this part of Australia justice, and which have set something of a template for so many others to follow: utilising both familiar and lesser-seen grape varietals, and watching them reach new heights of character and expression in the incredible soils and climatic conditions that this region provides. Pike and Joyce was established in 1994 by two families; the Pikes from Clare Valley, and the Adelaide Hills based Joyces. Together, they purchased land on one of the highest points of the region, and made great use of the unique terroir which was spread over 25 beautiful hectares. Pike and Joyce kick-started their winery with classic Burgundy varietals, but soon started experimenting with grapes as diverse as Pinot Gris and Gruner Veltliner, achieving eye-opening results every time. Once you get a taste for what they do best, we’ve no doubt you’ll soon be checking out their extensive back catalogue. Thank us later...

Pairing guide
Versatile, delicious and fantastically silky, this Pinot Noir from Pike & Joyce is one we just know you’re going to adore. It’s a natural pairing for fattier meats like sirloin steak, duck breast or confit duck legs, roast lamb and Christmas goose, and will be excellent with classic festive sides like pigs in blankets, fruity stuffings and roast root vegetables. It’s also brilliant with veggie alternatives ranging from bean burgers to nut roasts and pumpkin ravioli, and will work a treat with all your favourite slow-cooked stews of red meats, vegetables and bitter greens like kale.

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
