Details
‘Les trois Terroirs’ Cabernet Franc is sourced from the sub-region of Chinon, one of the most important regions for Cabernet Franc in the world. The wine is showing more herbal, leafy notes with some stemmy, whole bunch aromas offset by blackberry and blackberry leaf fruit tones. The palate has oodles of texture and a silky finish.
The Loire Valley is a grand region that traverses central France where you will find the perfect mix of history, gastronomic delights and a nice smattering of castles. The region expands from the coastal city of Nantes where you could consume one of the best pairings in the world, oysters with muscadet, to the historically important city of Orléans, and by historic, we are talking Joan of Arc levels! François- Xavier Barc and Gérald Vallée started Complices de Loire in 2010, after both having a strong background of winemaking in the Loire Valley. The winery sources fruit from across the Loire and produces a range of classic wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc to Cabernet Franc and Gamay. The winery has two different vineyards, after acquiring Domaine à Deux in 2015, which has helped grow the range of wines. There is a beauty to the range, with modern wine labels and well constructed wines that showcase the versatility of the Loire Valley.

Pairing guide
The team at Complices de Loire has done a fantastic job of capturing all the lushness, plushness, and dark fruit flavour that we know and love from Cabernet Franc, and delivering it in a bottle of real distinction. This tasty red is a top pairing for juicy red meats - think a good sirloin steak, pan-roasted duck breast, or rack of lamb - especially if matched with a fruity sauce or jus. Garlic and Merlot is a top pairing, too, so feel free to be liberal with this particular ingredient. It’s also going to match well with mushroom dishes, sweet potato, and strong cheeses - delicious!
