Details
Sourced from a vineyard in the chilly heights of Whitlands, and what a refreshing Pet Nat it is too. We love just how clean and energetic this Pet nat is - one of the most pure natural wines we've had in yonks! Made from Sauvignon Blanc, and you can see with the passionfruit and green pea hints, then it goes into pear and subtle flavours on the palate too. What a lively fizz!

The Aussie wine industry is in a fascinating place right now. Up and down the length and breadth of this massive and varied country, we’re seeing more and more wineries establishing themselves with impressive ambitions of rewriting the winemaking rulebook. How? By kicking back against the status quo and using interesting methods and a stripped-back approach while on the quest for the very utmost in flavour and distinction. Firmly in this category of innovative and nature-driven wineries sits the wonderful Nomad’s Garden, an operation set up a few years back in the Alpine mountains of Northeast Victoria, bringing out a seriously awe-inspiring set of wines. Ben Dahlenburg at Nomad’s Garden is determined not to take any shortcuts and never settle for second best, with a mission to stick to terroir-based credentials at every step. It might not make for an easy working life. Still, it means that these wines are handmade beauties of real character, produced from single vineyards, fermented with wild indigenous yeasts, and bottled on-site to ensure maximum control over quality and the maximum expression of what makes this corner of the world so special. If you’re looking for interesting, unique, and characterful wines made from lesser-seen grape varieties, Nomad's Garden is the answer!

Pairing guide
We’re all big Pet Nat fans nowadays (seriously, what did we ever do before this fantastic wine style took over the world?) and this bottle from Nomad’s Garden definitely knows how to hit the high notes. It’s brilliantly versatile with food, and will be just as happy with a bucket of fried chicken and a pile of chips as it will be with sushi, oysters, caviar pancakes and silky fillets of white fish in a cream and wine sauce. Roast poultry, peach and prosciutto salad, fried arancini or croquetas, and crispy noodles and fried rice dishes are also equally welcome here.
