Details
The Monterra Tempranillo is great for those needing a vacation to Spain, yet can’t be bothered and this bottle of wine is more accessible. This is classical Temp with deep cherry cola tones, cherry ripe goodness and a light touch of spice. The wine rounds out with some firm structure and the want to be drunk with some yummy tapas.
Origin: Spain. Mainly Grown In: Spain, Portugal, Argentina. Key Facts: You love the bold and the beautiful; the kind of beauty that is confident, self-assured, secure and doesn’t need to spend extra time in the mirror for a self-guided pep talk in order to look mega hot on the dance floor. Meet Tempranillo, a Spanish grape with a confident backbone of tannin balanced with sweeter red fruits like cherries and strawberries and with an alluring kick of spice. Tempranillo is praised both in its youth and with oak age in Spain. In fact, in Rioja they have a full grading system based on the time it spends ageing in oak. The more time in oak, the more expensive, but also the more you will notice flavours becoming more leathery and savoury. It is important to remember, however that more time in oak does not necessarily mean it is better quality. Fun Fact: Tempranillo is the fourth most planted grape in the world!

It’s going to be excellent with all your Tex-Mex and Mexican favourites, from chicken or beef fajitas to burritos, loaded nachos, chilli con carne and carnitas. Mole sauces, classic Spanish pork, lamb and beef stews will be superb with this one, and it’s also delicious served alongside sage and cheese polenta recipes, roast smoky eggplant, barbecued root vegetables and braised lentils with a big hit of smoked paprika.

Wine region

Riverland, Australia
Located in the heart of South Australia, the Riverland wine region is a tropical paradise for wine lovers. The region was formerly known for its traditional wines, particularly Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Grenache as well as its abundance of sunshine and beautiful scenery. In the last few years it's added a raft of Mediterranean varieties to its charm - think Fiano and Nero d'Avola. The warm climate and fertile soils of the Riverland make it a perfect place for grape growing, and the wines produced there are bursting with flavour. So why not explore the wines of the Riverland and discover a new favourite?
