Details
Picpoul is such a bright, accessible grape that sings sunshine and rainbows. This natty little number from Mercer Wines screams sunshine like a pair of stubbies and thongs. Orange blossom and mineral drive on the nose, there is a continuation of citrus fruit with orange and mandarin on the palate with a refreshing, zesty finish.
Forget traditional varieties - think new, sustainable, and vegan-friendly varietal wines from all over NSW. The idea of Mercer Wines had been fermenting for over twenty years, starting when Aaron had begun selling wine and scrubbing tanks in the Hunter Valley, and learning from local legends, he realised the joy of making wine and has continued his education all over the world. Aaron is one of NSW’s most awarded and versatile winemakers. With extensive experience working in France, Germany, Canada and California, he is best known for his positive impact - and flair for accuracy and creativity - with organic and preservative-free winemaking in Australia. Aaron is now settled back in the Hunter Valley with his wife, Alison and their family. They both knew that starting a brand and business would create flexibility in their lives to enjoy the things they love most; family, travel and wine. Today Mercer Wines has come full circle in providing unique, sustainable wines that are fun, fruit-driven and delicious for any occasion!

Pairing guide
Mercer has done a beautiful job of crafting a Pet Nat that utterly exceeds expectations, delivering crispness and fizz alongside elegant bright flavours… all ideal for bringing amazing versatility to your food pairing adventures! We love this wine with crispy fried chicken, homemade vegetable fritters and savoury treats like calamari rings and fritto misto. However, it’s also going to be great with rice dishes like pilaf, smoky eggplant creations, Thai green curry, pork or fish tacos, and anything featuring plenty of goat’s cheese.
