Details
This is a sweet style of red wine that would find a home nicely slightly chilled and with some delicious spicy food. This Grenache blend has a nice mix of sweet red berries and a touch of liquorice with rounded, silky tannin.

Origin: Southern Rhône, France. Mainly Grown In: Southern France, South Australia, west coast USA. Key Facts: Grenache has a curious way of making a great team captain when it comes to blends. Who can resist the confident red fruity flavours and spice it brings to the game! Though it’s most recognised for its contribution in the GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) blend, it’s no surprise that us adventurous Aussie’s decided to play with the classic mix and have some real fun. The final wine is a balance of the best parts of all three, which usually means a round medium-bodied mouthful of juicy flavours, violet and lingering savoury spices. Fun Fact: A Pope (Clemens V in case you're the curious type) loved this blend so much that the most iconic GSM making region is called Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which means the 'Pope's New Castle'. You better believe there was a lot of GSM flowing here.

Pairing guide
The Bordeaux winemakers at Maison Johanès Boubée continue to impress with this gorgeous Grenache blend - it’s a real masterclass of balance and depth, and perfect for pairing with flavourful food. Slow-cooked red meats and veggies, rich bean dishes and tomato-based pasta recipes will work brilliantly, and it’s also a top pick for a roast dinner of lamb, chicken or other poultry. Cassoulet, sausage casserole, grilled eggplants with cheese, lasagna and dishes with pancetta or smoked bacon will also match up very well indeed.
