Details
For this Chardonnay, Erin has sourced grapes from the green hills of the Yarra Valley, delivering us a beautifully crisp, refined and ultra-pure Chardonnay of delicacy and beauty. Gently nutty, it's crystalline and vibrant, with just a little peachy fruit richness on what is otherwise a wine of superstar freshness and refinement. One hot tip? Don't drink this too cold - give it some time out of the fridge to enjoy the whole flavour spectrum.

Erin Frances Pooley (thus the name) is one of Australia's most exciting young winemakers, although no one really knows that yet! Born and raised in Sydney, she graduated from Charles Sturt University with a degree in Wine Science before moving to California and began making wine in 2007. Come the year that was 2020, she returned home with a desire to start afresh and make wines from her own backyard. Erin has a keen wine mind, coupled with a global palate. Together, these form a powerful weapon that she applies with laser focus in finding unsung fruit sources and coaxing all the nuance and detail from them. The complexity she manages to imbue into her wines is wonderful, and they have that rare delight of changing slowly over time in the glass and once the bottle has been opened. It's a pleasure to have these wines in the GPD stable!

Pairing guide
This Chardonnay from Little Frances is a beautiful example of what contemporary versions of the classic white wine style can do, bringing plenty of crisp character and freshness to that unmistakably luxuriant body. It’s a brilliant wine to pair with creamy chicken and pork pasta dishes, shellfish and seafood soups, stews and chowders, and white fish fillets with new potatoes or steamed greens. Italian white bean salads, vegetable or chicken risotto, richer cheeses like brie and camembert, and coconut-based curries are also highly recommended.
