Details
The La Vicomté team have put together a classical Cabernet Sauvignon that displays all the usual suspects of this variety. There are some classy blackberries and blackcurrants, a nice array of tomato leaf and tobacco as well as some spice. The tannins are nice and strong and will give you something to talk about the next day.

The wine world is a big, wide world that can be difficult to navigate from time to time. Luckily there are people in the industry like Camille, that are happy to open the doors to wineries that might otherwise be missed. La Vicomté is one of those wineries, located in the Languedoc they have a host of grapes to utilise and the wherewithal to make smart, modern wines that are ideal for the Australian market. The beauty of the Languedoc is that there are less restrictions about what wines they can make, so the winery portfolio is extensive. They have a range of different wines, from classic French varieties like Viognier, Vermentino and Grenache Gris, to more fascinating wines like their ‘Cépage Resistant’ range which focuses on varieties like Floréal and Souvignier Gris, that are sustainable, rely less on pesticides and help preserve the biodiversity of the soil. Beside the good planet story, they also make great wine across the board for you to enjoy at home.

Pairing guide
Deeply flavourful and with an irresistible rich, tannic character, this multi-layered Cabernet Sauvignon is a real testament to the craftsmanship that goes into every bottle at the La Vicomté winery. This is bold red to bring out when deeply savoury stews and braises are on the menu - we’re talking slow-cooked beef stew, coq au vin, lamb in red wine and rosemary gravy, wild mushrooms and truffles, black lentils with caramelised red onions… you get the picture, we’re sure. If all else fails, pair it with your most pungent cheeses, and you’re onto a winner.
