Details
The Pepperilly rosé is sourced from Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre all on the Ironcloud vineyard. The wine is juicy and bright with red berries for days and a nice clean finish that will have you reaching for the bottle before someone else gets in first.
Ironcloud Wines is the passion project for Warwick Lavis, a fruit in the form of bunches of grapes from all his hard work and success over the years in the restaurant industry. Aside from Ironcloud, for years Warwick owned one of the staples of the Perth restaurant scene, Matilda Bay Restaurant, with its stunning views of the Swan River and classic, modern Australian food. Warwick set up Ironcloud in 2003 with a couple of friends in the growing region of Ferguson Valley, which is part of the broader Geographe region that lies sandwiched between Perth and Margaret River. The vineyard is a smorgasbord of classic varieties and emerging warm climate alternate varieties, with Grenache, Mourvèdre and Touriga Nacional showing their true potential in the Ferguson Valley. There are three key series of wines, with the entry level Pepperilly, premium Alliance and our favourite, the Rock of Solitude range.

Pairing guide
This stunning rosé is a wine which has great versatility at the table. It’s elegant, refined, and a perfect example of what rosé can be. It pairs beautifully with roast hams, as well as other cured pork meats, but it will just as equally go with sunny fish dishes, salad Niçoise and your barbecued prawns! Also a lovely match with poultry like steamed chicken or BBQ quail.

Wine region

Geographe, Australia
Geographe is a wine region located in the South West region of Western Australia (40 minute’s drive Northeast of Margaret River). It has a Mediterranean-style climate with warm, dry summers and mild, winters, which is ideal for growing grapes. The soils are predominantly sandy loams, providing good drainage and nutrient levels for the vines, and some vineyards have access to the permanent water table 15m below.
It is known for producing high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz. Compared to nearby Margaret River, Cabernet Sauvignon from Geographe tends to have distinctly fine gain and lingering tannins. The region has seen a rapid growth of boutique producers in recent years, aided by its proximity to Geographe Bay, which is home to a world-class food and wine scene, but attractions like Busselton Jetty, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and gorgeous seascape panoramas.
