Key Facts: As a wine drinker, Pinot Noir is one smooth-talking charmer; silken texture, soft tannins, juicy acidity and as light in colour as it is on its feet. It does have a reputation however as a challenging grape to grow - it's very picky about where it is planted and can be tricky to get right. But the toil of growing it is always worth it in the end! Nothing quite compares to the splendour of Pinot Noir — packed with flavours of strawberry, warm baking spices and elegant earthiness... more is never enough. Fun Fact: In South Africa, Pinot Noir vines were crossed with Cinsault grapes and thus created a new variety called Pinotage in 1925.
