Details
This wine takes our old friend Pinot Gris and blends it with a new friend in Schönburger. Don't worry; she's new around here. We didn't know much about her either (I heard she's from somewhere near Berlin!). Anyway, this is all feijoa and lychee, mango and mandarin. Fresh and taut, it's a super glass of wine.
This is a story about a man named Peter. Peter is a winemaker, but really wanted to be a sports star. Peter also likes music, and being a little bit silly. The end result of all of these things together is a wonderful winery named Dr Edge....taken from Peter's surname, Dredge. The wines are brilliant, but don't take themselves seriously, much like Peter. As well as his own clever label, Peter is also the head winemaker at great Tassie estate Meadowbank. Clever chap. For Dr Edge, he takes fruit from all over Tasmania and crafts some wonderful wines. Pinot, Chardonnay and Riesling are all loved, as are more unusual grapes that often don't get the limelight. There's a focus on more savoury notes - the wines have fruit, but it often sits in the shadow of more complex flavours and textures. These are wines of substance and integrity, deliciousness and vitality. Excellent modern Tasmanian wines.

Pairing guide
It really was love at first sip when it came to this marvellous orange wine from Dr Edge, who have entered the fray with their superb skin contact vino in peerless style. It’s a great wine for pairing with vegetarian dishes featuring ingredients like zucchini, red and green capsicum, almonds, walnuts and generous amounts of garlic, and will work especially well with couscous salads, quinoa dishes and fried snacks like falafel. Tahini dressings, grilled oily fish, tinned tuna salads and roast chicken thighs will also pair very nicely indeed.

Wine region

Tamar Valley, Australia
The Tamar Valley, located on the banks that run along the Tamar river on the northern coast of Tasmania, is one of Tasmania’s oldest wine-growing areas. Its cool climate moderated by the river makes it perfect for growing high-quality grapes and producing premium wines. In particular, the region has built a very high reputation for its Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Sparkling wines which are giving some of the best of Burgundy and Champagne a run for their money. The secret is out, a region that was once humbly flying under the radar is now producing wines that are coveted by wine lovers all around the world.
