Details
This empty-able rosé features a rare combination of grapes: Grenache and Vermentino from the Doole Vineyard artfully married to deliver maximum deliciousness. Light pink coloured, there's pink fruit, a bit of peach and melon (from the Vermentino grapes) and just the barest creamy edge to soften things. Light and very light coppery pink flavours, unripe pink fruit, barely any flavour, medium acidity. Very fresh and clean. Just a little creamy fruit at the edges. A little melon and stone fruit and watermelons
Norm Doole & Drew Doowie started Dowie Doole back in 1995 as a way of bringing their two McLaren Vale grapegrowing properties at different ends of the region together. Norm Doole's property sits at Tatachilla, a stone's throw from the ocean in a warm part of 'the Vale' known for big reds. Then, Drew Doowie's block is at Blewitt Springs, where the sandy soils and altitude give a very different character altogether (home also to the region's most famous Grenache vineyards). With their powers combined, Dowie Doole delivers some pretty classic McLaren Vale flavours right across the grape spectrum, especially now with winemaker Chris Thomas taking over the estate and reimagining the business. Grenache, Shiraz and full-flavoured whites are the heroes of Dowie Doole, but with over 75 hectares of prime vineyards to choose from, all sorts of things can lob up under this label.

Pairing guide
Hailing from the beautiful vineyards of McLaren Vale, this elegant yet expressive rosé never fails to satisfy the senses. Food friendly and effortlessly versatile, this blushing wine is ideal for simple chicken dishes, spiced fish recipes and Middle Eastern classics like vegetarian tagine or tabbouleh salad. Cheese and ham combos, savoury pastries, pasta salads and dishes featuring ingredients like green olives, capers and salted meats will also work very well indeed, and it’s always going to work a treat with lightly curried white meats and vegetables, too.
