Details
The Petit Accent is a masterful blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. With intense pepper and spicy tones of liquorice and cloves, the wine starts off with a bang before settling into a nice rhythm of cherry berry goodness to balance the spice.
The wine world is sometimes a lovely place where beautiful interactions happen between those who share the same passion for drinking fermented grape juice. One of our wine buyers, James, has just finished a year-long stint in France, and along the journey he met many such people. One of them is Konrad Pixner, the man behind Domaine de l’Accent, after discovering the Petit Accent within the famed Victor Hugo markets in Toulouse, James sought out Konrad to bring his wines to Australian shores. The wines are all sourced from the Terrasses du Larzac wine region, located outside the seaside city of Montpellier. Konrad has a very hands on approach to winemaking, and by hands on we mean that he does everything by hand. From hand-picking the grapes and then keeping a careful eye on the wine through the fermentation process. The wines are made with indigenous yeasts and as minimal additions as possible. His focus is Grenache, and here you will find some truly world class Grenache, and GPD are super excited to share these delightful bottles with you.

Pairing guide
Ah, there’s nothing quite like a solid French Grenache blend to remind yourself just why red wine is such a lifelong love affair for so many of us. Elegant yet juicy, versatile yet refined, this beautiful bottle from Domaine de L'Accent is the very essence of southern French sunshine, and an absolute joy to pair with some seriously tasty food. This wine is going to be brilliant with bistro classics like ratatouille (or Asian interpretations of this iconic vegetable stew), cassoulet and all kinds of chicken, duck, and sausage casseroles, Asian slow-braised beef, and roasted tomato and eggplant dishes. Delicious!

As a result, you may find many innovative, even atypical blends in this region, that represent excellent value. Of the numerous varieties available in Languedoc Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Viognier are the stand outs.
