Details
What's a McLaren Vale Shiraz doing under a Pinot-focused abel? Well, when winemaker Richard happened upon some Shiraz grapes from a trusted grower in 'the Vale' he couldn't resist scooping it up and putting out a wine. This Ditto Shiraz is a round and inviting full-flavoured thing too - it's soft and inviting, with loads of red plummy fruit and soft tannins. Ditto to another glass!
Ditto Wines started as a conversation between two mates about Pinot. Both Richard Bate and his unnamed Pinot-loving business partner love this grape and decided that Ditto was the perfect vehicle for celebrating Pinot Noir, with the name a homage to Pinot Noir's famous variability - the same grape, made into wine over and over again, but often with wonderfully different results. Richard is a close friend of GPD (as head winemaker of the excellent Karatta range) and when he came to us with the Ditto Wines, it was a very easy sell. Cool climate South Australian Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris (plus a few one-off wines, just for fun) that taste like they come from somewhere and is packed full of charisma.

Pairing guide
Fire up your barbecues, folks. This wine is one which loves a bit of char and smoke, and whether you’re tossing chicken thighs, rump steak, sausages, or burgers on the grill, this Shiraz is going to hit the high notes. It’s also a great wine for braised beef, stews, leg of lamb, wild mushrooms, rustic bean dishes, and eggplant, too… and you can even pair it nicely with dark chocolate gateau for a truly decadent taste sensation!
