Details
A delicious and elegant start to any celebration, the Henriot Brut Souverain is the most historical cuvée of the house, first produced in 1808. It appeals with gorgeous citrus and white blossom aromas balanced by notes of pastry and brioche. It has a chalky line of minerality that harmonises with a toasty mid-palate, and a fine and classic long finish. Very classy.
Maison Henriot was founded in 1808 by young widow Apolline Henriot, who was already the owner of Pinot Noir vineyards in the Montagne de Reims. With an understanding and deep love for the Champagne region and the beauty of its vines and landscapes, she created the first Henriot cuvée, now known as Henriot ‘Brut Souverain’. In 1880 Apolline Henriot’s great-grandson married into a family from the Côte des Blancs, and in doing so added to the family’s Premier Cru holdings with Chardonnay plots in the Grand Cru vineyards of Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly. In the early 1970s seventh-generation Joseph Henriot increased the collection of reserve wines at Maison Henriot, which had been initiated by Apolline Henriot more than two centuries earlier. Independent and family-owned for more than two centuries, today it is eighth-generation Gilles de Larouzière Henriot who presides over Maisons & Domaines Henriot and strives to perpetuate the Henriot family legacy, and conquer new horizons.

Pairing guide
Full-flavoured, elegant, and utterly delicious, this Champagne really knows how to get the taste buds tingling. Like all Champagne, this wine is an absolute champion when it comes to food pairing. On the one hand, you can keep things classy by sticking with tradition - this Champagne is gorgeous with oysters, caviar, smoked salmon, lobster, and other fine seafood. On the other, it’s got a real affinity for fried foods that’s impossible to resist. French fries, buffalo wings, fish and chips, and battered vegetables are a genuine match made in heaven!

Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
