Details
Ooh we do love a good Chenin Blanc here at Good Pair Days! This one is gorgeously fragrant with lemon zest and white flower aromas - think gardenia and lime blossom - and is super-juicy with a pleasing texture and plenty of that Chenin zing, with a chalky and mineral finish. Perfect warm weather drinking, with or without food!

Origin: Anjou, in the Central Loire Valley in France. Mainly Grown In: South Africa actually leads the way these days, with nearly twice as much Chenin planted as France. USA and Argentina also have a lot. Key Facts: You know that friend who just seems to do everything well? They are an artist, and athlete, and wait, what — they also code? Well, that’s pretty much Chenin Blanc, quite possibly, the world's most versatile grape. It’s famous for world-class dry table wine, sweet wine, sparkling wine, and in some parts of South Africa, distilled into brandy! However, most on the market today are dry wines — like this delicious drop! The style of the flavours of dry Chenin Blanc depends on the climate it is from (warm or cool) but, one thing's for sure, it almost always has flavours of apples, delicate white flowers, and beeswax complimented by sky high acidity. Fun Fact: Chenin Blanc is named for Mont-Chenin in Touraine, France (a significant hill/mountain in the region).

Pairing guide
This beautiful Chenin Blanc is a delight to the senses - a truly stunning example of what this variety does best when handled with real love and care. As for food pairing, we loved this wine with creamier white fish and chicken dishes, buttery pasta with cured cuts of pork and cheese, savoury pastries and all kinds of coconut milk-based curries and Asian broths. It’s also a winner with dishes boasting a sweet ‘n’ sour quality, making it ideal for all your Chinese and Thai takeaway favourites. Yum!

Wine region
South Australia, Australia
South Australia is a wide and varied state when it comes to wine production. From the coastal regions of Limestone Coast and McLaren Vale, to the warmer inland valleys of Barossa and Eden, to the flats of Langhorne Creek, there's a range of terroirs and temperatures across this wide brown land. As a result, wines labelled with only South Australia can display a range of flavours! The state is probably best known for Shiraz, Grenache and Cab Sav in reds, and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in white. Whatever your flavour, there's plenty to explore!
