Details
This is a classic Barossa GSM blend where the Grenache and Shiraz are doing the heavy lifting with a splash of Mataro adding a nice bit of depth. In true Moppa style, this wine has plenty of dark spice, chocolatey tones and lifted purple fruit. This is your GSM that will sit pretty comfortably next to the BBQ with a few careful turns of the snags to go with a decent splash of this in your glass.
Arila Gardens is the amazing result of the Clay family and their drive to make their own wines after collectively making other peoples wines for over forty years. When Adam and Marie Clay had the opportunity to buy a vineyard which came with an 1870s cottage, they jumped on it to be both vineyard owners and discover their inner Kevin McCloud. The land just so happened to be on prime Moppa soil in the heart of the Barossa Valley. The Moppa has long been known to be a favourite for iconic wines like Penfolds Grange so for the Clay family, they decided to focus on Shiraz and Grenache however they have also ventured away from the mainstream with the introduction of Saperavi and Nero D’Avola. The wines are focused and made with the love and passion for a goal finally achieved. The vines grow on three main soil types, quartz, sand and ironstone which all produce different styles where the winery highlights these in single expressions as well as broader blends.
