Details
A white Pinot Noir here, with a slither of St. Laurent (also red) in the mix. From old vines, this wine is fermented and aged in a combination of US and French oak. It's flinty and mineral, with a brilliant struck match nose. Plenty of concentration on the palate, this is a very high quality wine for the money.

Christopher Full has got to be one of the most exciting young winemakers coming out of Germany at the moment. Our wine team recently discovered this whizz-kid back in early 2023 on a trip to Germany, where we were immediately drawn in by Christopher's epic wine labels... then things got really interesting. Christopher has Riesling (amongst other grapes) running through his veins and his outstanding, superb range of small-batch, hand-crafted wines are nothing short of exceptional. Full's winery and vineyards are located in the Mölsheim in Zellertal, which is one of the best terroirs and hotspots for grape growing in Germany at the moment. The entire area is effectively a giant limestone rock and the soil forces vine roots to reach deep into the ground leading to low yields of exceptional quality. Christopher tells us that "winemaking is mining for terroir", all of his wines are fermented naturally in small oak barrels and bottling only takes place just before the following harvest.

Pairing guide
When it comes to sparkling wine styles that never fail to get our taste buds tingling, Blanc de Noirs sits right at the top of our list of all-time favourites. This characterful fizz from Weingut is an absolute beauty, and will work well with a massive array of dishes and ingredients. We loved it with a warm salad of duck breasts or chicken livers, and it’s also great with lighter seared steak dishes with a berry dressing. Prosciutto and other cured meats, all kinds of cheeses, and garlic prawns or jewelled couscous with pomegranate and fresh herbs would also be highly recommended.

Wine region
Rheinhessen, Germany
Get ready to raise your glasses and clink them together in the Rheinhessen wine region, baby! Located in southwestern Germany along the beautiful Rhine river valley, this place is the ultimate playground for wine lovers. With more than 26,000 hectares of vineyards, it's the largest wine-growing region in the country, and boy do they know how to make a good bottle of white wine. If you're a fan of Riesling, you're in for a treat because they grow some of the best grapes in the world here. But that's not all – Silvaner, Pinot Noir, and Müller-Thurgau are just a few of the other grape varieties that thrive in this mild and sunny climate. You'll find plenty of small, family-owned wineries that produce unique and interesting wines that reflect the local terroir.
