Details
Vaucluse have put together a lovely red blend, featuring Merlot, Grenache and a touch of Syrah. Together these varieties are each having a say, with the raspberry fruit highlighted from the Grenache, some pepper popping through from the Syrah and the heavy lifting of leafy, red fruit coming from the Merlot. This is your bistro wine for lazy weekends.

The French wine scene can be somewhat of a minefield at times, all we really want is a supplier that makes wines from all across the country while still displaying regional and sub-regional typicity.. Simple right?!? Well, enter Maison Johanès Boubée which is a winery that has succeeded in the French landscape, while relatively unknown outside its borders. The winery has access to all the goodies around the country and aside from an impressive winemaking team, it also has employed sommeliers to taste each wine to confirm it meets that all important terroir feel of each region. The winery is a nod to the old-school way, where you didn’t need to boast a fancy label to sell a bottle of wine and the juice inside is the most important part. We have tasted through a large range of their wines and are very impressed with the overall quality in each bottle. The Vaucluse range is their focus on the Rhone and Languedoc regions with Chardonnay and Grenache featuring in their wines.

Pairing guide
Hailing from one of France’s most revered wine regions, this beautiful red blend brings together a stunning array of varieties, resulting in a wine that’s so much more than the sum of its parts. It’s a natural pairing for hearty, homely slow-cooked stews and casseroles, especially those featuring fattier meats like lamb or duck legs. Mushroom dishes, tagine recipes, braised steak with kale, strong cheeses and aromatic herbs like sage and rosemary will work brilliantly here, and it’s also great with roast root vegetables, aubergine and puy lentils.
