You'll find all of the hallmarks of classic California Zin in this wine. But you'll also find effortless balance and elegance, with intense black cherry character, notes of smoke, anise and even a subtle, wild accent. St. Francis has been operating as a certified sustainable winery out of California's Sonoma Country for over 50 years, producing a rather classic, award-winning portfolio of wine with a constant eye on preserving their natural environment. St. Francis' vineyards include mountainous sites at altitude, as well as valley floor plots and everything in between, and this range of site variety has enabled the team to produce and cultivate lots of different exciting wines from a range of grape types. We were particularly impressed by their Zinfandel. this is a grape that is often mistreated and over-extracted out of the US, so when we happened upon St. Francis' 'Old Vine' cuvée, we were taken away by its elegance and poise. The team have a beautiful cellar door at the estate - which has picked up an award or two of its own over the years - where wine lovers can soak up breathtaking views of Sonoma whilst kicking back with a glass of something delicious.
