Details
The 'Arpent' cuvée hails from the famous Silex soils of Vouvray and this wine just nails it! Soapy notes of red apples and ripe pear leap from the glass after an hour or so of being open. This is clean and mineral, with focus and concentration in abundance.
Born and raised in Vouvray, Sébastien Brunet knows the lay of the land around his vines as well as anyone, and since taking over his family domaine in 2006, he has taken things to a new level, and really become a figurehead for the new style of Vouvray - drier, cleaner and working with more natural methods. For four generations, Sébastien’s ancestors have been working this land, however they didn't make the most of the fruits of their labour - selling the grapes to other winemakers. In 1974, when Sébastien’s father, Michel, inherited the property, this began to change, and that change has only accelerated with Seb in charge. He is a quiet person, a thoughtful winemaker, not give to excess and flourish...he leaves that to his wines! Each year the qualtiy improves and he produces chiselled, fresh, mouthwatering Chenin Blancs. The regularity of quality here is seriously impressive, he doesn't put a foot wrong!

Pairing guide
We’ve said it a thousand times before, and we’ll likely say it a thousand times again: we couldn’t be happier that Chenin Blanc is back in style, complete with a racy new character that pairs magnificently with some of our favourite dishes. We always reckon Chenin Blanc works best alongside sweet and sour dishes - everything from a Singapore stir-fry to pork chops with sticky apples will work a treat. Halloumi skewers, roast cauliflower, creamy pasta sauces and milder curries with a coconut milk sauce are also great options to try, and it’s brilliant with seafood like scallops, prawns and oysters, too. Yum!
