Details
Per Osmote's house style, this is a low extraction, reasonably light iteration of Cabernet Franc - and it's stunning! Primary notes of slightly underripe berries, black pepper and leaf notes leap from the glass. The spine of acidity here is electric and almost fizzes on the palate. Seriously drinkable.

Osmote, a family-run winery in the Finger Lakes region of New York, embodies the natural pursuit of balance in winemaking. This is a small producer by volume and their wines are known for their light-bodied character and moderate alcohol levels, reflecting the cool climate of the area. Osmote's award-winning creations have earned them a place in Michelin-starred restaurants globally, showcasing their dedication and passion for winemaking. With a focus on quality over quantity, Osmote wines offer a unique drinking experience for wine enthusiasts looking for distinctive flavours that capture the essence of the Finger Lakes region. Winemaker Ben Riccardi cut his teeth in Sonoma, New Zealand and France, and with him at the helm, these low-intervention wines are a must-try for any lover of cool climate wine.

Pairing guide
With its deeply satisfying flavour profile and delightfully punchy character, this Cabernet Franc from Osmote is a great choice for those looking to elevate their meal times into encounters with taste sensations. It’s a natural pairing for rustic beef steak dishes and hearty bistro classics like cassoulet with duck legs, smoky sausages and beans. However, it’s also an impressive pairing for Moroccan tagines - including vegetarian iterations with chickpeas and aubergine - as well as with vegan dishes highlighting smoked tofu or seitan. Mushrooms, blue cheese and roast root vegetables are also a great choice of pairing with this impactful red!
