Details
The Lynus 'Origen’ series of wines are defined by the time spent in oak, which in this case is 12 months. With a vivid and intense colour, there is so much power and elegance wrapped up in this wine. The focus here, despite the oak ageing, is the fruit, with effortless, velvety tannins and a lovely density from top to bottom.
Bodega y Viñedos Lynus is a seriously impressive outfit operating out of one of Spain's premier wine regions: Ribera del Duero. Our winemaking team has been looking for an exclusive producer from this part of the world for some time, and has been busy tasting through several producers before settling on the sensational, boutique wines from Lynus. With vineyards based mostly on limestone soils, these are wines that are all about freshness, power and finesse, with reasonably low-intervention practice in the winery in order to let the primary fruit of Tempranillo grapes really shine through. Perhaps slightly atypical for the region, these are wines that are not so obviously oaked, relying on their natural terroir to shine through. A true boutique winery, everything at Lynus is done by hand. These are small production wines that make a big impact and we are over the moon that they are finally here in the UK. Not to be missed!

Pairing guide
A good Tempranillo is always a welcome sight at the dining table, and this characterful bottle from Lynus ticks all the right boxes. All that depth and satisfying spicy flavour makes it a wonderful match for rustic Spanish and Mexican-style dishes, and we adored it with Spanish-style roast chicken with chorizo, sizzling beef fajitas, and hefty mole sauces served with polenta. Goulash, paprikash and other Eastern European stews will also hit the spot beautifully, and it’s also great with braised lentils, roast lamb and tagine dishes. What’s not to love?
