Details
This Soave has a delightful nose of freshly cut grass, yellow citrus fruit and nettle that effortlessly interlace with subtle notes of honey and acacia. As we have come to expect from the Adami family, this is a characterful wine, with lots of playful fruit and good energy on the palate that finishes with a touch of flint and a whisper of smoke. Impressive stuff.
Corte Adami is an impressive outfit in Italy's Veneto with a passion for producing stunning wines indicative of the local regions of Soave and Valpolicella. The Adami family have been well-known grape growers for generations, but it wasn't until 2004 that Angelo and Andrea decided to make wines from the fruit that they would otherwise sell to local producers. The family works around 40 hectares of vineyards and has a low-impact way of tending to their land. Since 2020, the estate's fruit has been certified SQNPI which denotes regenerative agricultural approaches, and sustainable operations and puts the protection and health of the local environment front and centre. Adami has a modern winery and cellar where they produce Soave at all levels up to their stunning Superiore, as well as the famous sweet dessert wine, Recioto. On the red side of things, Valpolicella in a number of styles is also produced, from Ripasso, through to Amarone della Valpolicella.

Pairing guide
Garganega wines, especially Soave wines like this beauty from Corte Adami, are right up there with our absolute favourites, not least because of their ability to offer amazing food pairing options. With this elegant bottle, you’ll want to whip up some richer Italian seafood options - gnocchi with clams, spaghetti vongole, seafood risotto, scallops or squid ink linguine, especially. It’s also great with chicken breast dishes, hearty green salads with salty cheeses or grains, any kind of classic antipasto, and breaded camembert - delicious!
