Details
This Rosé is made from Agiorgitiko, one of Greece's most prolific red grapes. It has a lovely pale colour in the glass, with notes of ripe strawberries and citrus freshness. The fruit on the palate is tart, with a taut mouthfeel and lovely freshness, leading to a vivid, bright finish.
Anastasia Fragou Winery is a delightful, small-scale winery located in Attica, north of Athens, Greece. Founded by the passionate Anastasia Fragou, this boutique winery is all about quality over quantity. With just a few carefully cultivated hectares, Anastasia and her team produce limited batches of wine that truly capture the spirit of the region. Anastasia’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for tradition and the environment. She’s all about letting the grapes do the talking. The winery is especially known for its charming Malagousia—a white wine that’s a true showstopper with its vibrant citrus and floral notes - as well as an increasing focus on the Savatiano. This is a new winery to Good Pair Days, and to the UK market; a gem discovered by our wine team during a trip to Central Greece in January 2024. Cool fact: Anastasia Fragou's Winery was tragically caught in a fire in recent years, devastating all her tanks and equipment. Despite this, Fragou and the team have pushed forward and managed to maintain the production and crucially, high quality of their wines throughout.

Pairing guide
Made from sun-ripened grapes grown in the Attica region of Greece, this delightfully crimson rosé is a real treat for the senses. All those cherry and summer fruit tasting notes make it a wonderful bottle to pair with Mediterranean dishes and bright, vibrant flavours, and we loved it with Greek-inspired recipes like orzo soup with feta and olives, roast lamb with lemon and thyme, and anything with plenty of feta and oregano. Spanakopita pies, grilled side of salmon with red and yellow peppers, vegetarian lentil ragu and a proper moussaka would also hit the spot perfectly.
