Details
Lucy and Xavier think this super rosé could be cellared for up to five years. But who is seriously going to wait that long? This Down to Earth rosé is made using a combo of Cabernet Franc, Trousseau, Merlot and Mondeuse grapes, which is one seriously wild grape fruit salad. Matured in old French oak barrels for even more complexity, this dry and savoury wine has loads going on, with strawberry fruit but this snappy freshness and then creamy edges too. It's rosé for grownups.
Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser both grew up surrounded by passionate winemaking families; Xavier’s father Christian was head of the Bollinger Champagne house, and Lucy’s father Brian is one of the most influential, pioneering figures in Australian wine, founder of Petaluma and Tapanappa wines. The couple planted their first vineyard in 2004 in Wrattonbully, South Australia, baptising it the Crayères Vineyard after the chalk cellars found throughout Xavier’s birthplace in Champagne. From the beginning, the vision for Terre à Terre (meaning Down to Earth) has been to grow the very best quality grapes from the same vineyard sites every year and then vinify them using the best French and Australian wine practices, across both Wrattonbully & the Adelaide Hills.

Pairing guide
We were hugely impressed by this elegant rosé from Terre a Terre. It perfectly showcases their incredible Trousseau Noir and Cabernet Franc grapes, resulting in a complex bottle with mountains of character and incredible food friendliness. It’s a great wine for a barbecue - grilled sausages, garlic prawns, jerk chicken thighs and robust salads with pomegranate, grains and fresh herbs will work brilliantly here. Salmon and seared tuna steaks are also brilliant with this wine, and it will also work very well with tomato and olive pasta sauces, salty cheeses and classic Nicoise salad.

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges
of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
