It makes sense that Margaret River would produce high quality Cabernet Franc if the close relative that is Cab Sauv has become world famous. The Moss Brothers example has plenty of herbal tones with violets and layers of plums and blackberries. There is a pop of brightness to this with mouth filling tannin and bursting fruit that comes in waves across the palate.

There has also been an exciting development with the growing production for Chenin Blanc, which is really hitting its straps, as well as some developing Cabernet Franc. The ‘Moses Rock’ range is named after the wild stallion who roamed the Wilyabrup region of Margaret River in the 1920s. Legend has it that he was named after the very popular surf break, because of his energy, spirit and wild temperament.
