Details
This wine is a bright glowing purple in the glass, luring you in and just daring you to take the plunge! It's a fruit-forward Cabernet, loaded with sweet mulberry, cassis and even a hint of Ribena! There's some black cherry also nestled in there amongst the vanilla and cinnamon. Soft tannins and a long finish complete the picture.

California is relegated to third largest state in terms of size by Texas and Alaska, but reigns supreme when it comes to wine production! Not only do they produce more than 90% of all wine made in the USA but they produce more than 30% more than all of Australia put together! This wine comes from the oversight of parent company Winery Exchange, created in 1999 with the sole purpose of finding great vineyards and turning them into modern, approachable wines that people around the world will love. Their portfolio of wines includes the King Stag label - classic Californian wines that balance fruit and elegance - but also has labels such as Foodies, FJ Serra and Arrow Creek. Winemaking is overseen by Juan Cerna, a native Californian with roots in the Salinas Valley. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology he found his passion for winemaking while working at various wineries across California, and is now seen as something of an expert in central Californian vineyards.

Pairing guide
We can’t get enough of this stunning Cabernet Sauvignon from King Stag, which really delivers when it comes to depth and power, and provides loads of exciting food pairing possibilities to explore. Steak, chips, and a classic peppercorn sauce is probably the most obvious match to go for, but this is also a top barbecue wine that can handle loads of smokiness and fat, too. Rich potato dishes, mushrooms, truffle, and punchy aged cheeses will all work fantastically, as will slow-cooked lamb and duck leg creations. Yummy!

Wine region
California, United States
California is a large wine region is located in the United States, known for producing some of the world's most popular and highly-regarded wines. Naturally, the region is located in the state of California, which has a Mediterranean-like climate well-suited to grape growing. The wine-growing area stretches from north to south, with the Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, and Central Coast being some of the most well-known sub-regions. The first winery in the region was established by Spanish missionaries in 1779, and the wine produced there was used for religious purposes. California is known for producing a wide range of wines, including world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Some of the most notable wineries in the region include Napa Valley's Robert Mondavi Winery, Stag's Leap, Sonoma Valley's Jordan Vineyard & Winery and the infamous Ridge Vineyards to the south.
