Details
Lumière comes from the Côteaux Varois en Provence, which is a small part of the larger Provence region that is famous for rosé. Here, on the lavender and grapevine-dotted hills, you'll find beautiful pink wines, just like this 2023 release. Light-bodied, dry, and savoury, it smells of red lipstick (no, seriously), watermelon, and a little creamed strawberry. It's a delicate, pretty wine, and oh wow, is it ever drinkable!

Estandon is a French co-operative that, for the past 50 years, has worked to 'express all the joy of the Provençal way of life' with 'wines that offer drinking pleasure and conviviality'. Sure, that all sounds idyllic (who wouldn't want to live and work in the south of France?), but Estandon is successful because of the 300 small winegrowers behind the label. This varied group farms their own plots, but pool their grapes and resources to help make the wines. The result is that Estandon is Provence's largest organic rosé producer, with a smorgasbord of absolutely classic wines to show for it.

Pairing guide
France’s Provence region is famed throughout the world for the quality of its rosé wines, and this bottle from Estandon goes some way towards showcasing why. It’s a deliciously bright and elegant bottle - the perfect match for seafood dishes featuring juicy prawns, fresh oysters and buttery Moreton Bay bugs and lobster, as well as hearty fish dishes of salmon with pesto and rice. Grilled chicken thighs, tomato-based pasta dishes, soft ripe cheeses and salads featuring capers and anchovies will also work an absolute treat.

Wine region
Provence, France
Provence is a wine region in southeastern France best known for its delicious rosé wines and beautiful beaches. It's also home to a number of protected wine appellations, such as the Côtes de Provence AOC and the Bandol AOC, which produce some of the best rosé wines in the world. Located on the Mediterranean Sea, this region has a warm and sunny climate, with long, hot summers and mild, wet winters. The landscape is filled with rolling hills, and picturesque villages on a gorgeous coastline, making it a holiday hub for many - sand in your toes, and rosé on the beach, anyone? But if rosé isn't your thing, the region also produces white and red wines, predominantly made from a variety of grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking for a fun and relaxing vacation, Provence has something for everyone.
